The interconnectedness calls me to a destiny

If you've listened to the most recent edition (episode 29) of Social Blend, you would have heard that I am pissed at the spamming motherfuckers and have declared war on their shenanigans.  The time has come.

This is a two-front war:

REACTIVE - Downvote spammers, and report their shit.
PROACTIVE -  is up to YOU.  Submit MORE content.  Share MORE content.

OK, are you with me?

Use these resources:
To fight the spammers -> use this thread posted by Bdog2g2 - http://mixxingbowl.com/forums/index.php/topic,749.0.html
To submit more content -> use http://www.popurls.com/  -  find more content in there!!

We are fully aware that Mixx is working towards tools and resources and features to deal with these spammers.
But a good community needs to self-regulate.  Let's help our favorite site.

Who the fuck is with me?

I love mixx, and even on mixx's worst day it's still better than any other social media site I've used.

I'm just grate we're ABLE to wage a war on spam. Anywhere else it's just tolerated.

A war on spammers should have started when signs were showing it was starting to get bad. But it's better late then never, give me a day or two, just keep your eyes out on my profile for new content.

Oh and I have a small idea.

Why not ban all the top mixxers and reliable mixxers that are not spammers together on one specific day and just down vote and report the hell out of the spammers for a certain period of time? It could be done, just getting it together would be a bit difficult.

@StandardsDT -- to some degree, that's what is going on in the first thread Greg linked to above. And the mixx staff is responding to the spam reporting, too, which makes the effort all the more effective.

Yes I remember that thread from a while back. Glad to see it's back.

As much as that helps everyone out a lot I still think having a specific day, perhaps a weekend where everyone just reports, votes down, and reply's to this topic for an hr or two all at once. Pretty much to the point where the staff is saying "Woah what's going on here?!".

I feel bad for Kerry, when Brian, Myself, Loup, and others were reporting the hell out of spammers (I still am) she was left to clean up after us (well go through all the reports) She must've had a busy time with that.

Hey~
We're not going to be saying "woah" what's going on here I be happy.
We lifted the rate limiting for SuperMixxers about an hour after SilentJay asked us to so that we could all fight together :-)
Last night I was following Loup and DarkNemesis til I went to sleep at midnight with the abuse reports at zero!  Came into the office today to 107 reports. got it down to 61 before the floodgates opened again I be happy.

Just remember, everyone, when reporting please give us a hint as to why. We can't tell just by looking that someone has scraped content from some other site unless they've put a link there and if you've done the research, please save us a smidgeon of time and indicate that in the report.

Danke !
-Kerry
