We can certainly say that its been a blast,  however with the recession and lack of real revenue (Adsense sucks), the Mixxingbowl and Social Blend have become a financial burden. We had hoped all the work with the re-branding and splitting the sites into two had helped, but unfortunately not enough.

This week we plan to record our last podcast and reminisce on the good times.  Hell, we may even get Joe completely shit-faced and see what happens.

Stay tune for future updates since we may make the last show a live Ustream broadcast.

Our first regular episode of the “Digg-free zone” year of 2009 is here, and we jump into the blend with our special guest, Jason Garber from Mixx, who talks to us about his band, his photography, and of course, Mixx!

Brian Hill aka Bdog2g2 also joins us later in the show, as we start asking Jason questions asked by SuperMixxers.  Later we talk about the epic lulz resulting from the recent Twitter Hackings, as well as quick discussion about the new Jones’ Big Ass Truck Rental and Storage video from BigDogEatChild.

Jason’s stories of the week include the hysterical appeal from the Porn Industry for a financial bailout, and the interesting article highlighting that Stonehenge was nothing more than a venue for medieval ravers.  Jay goes with the devil down to Georgia, and Greg does the pipeline while obsessing over Doctor Who.

Meanwhile, Brian gives crap to Greg (indeed all Aussies also) with the story about the angry wife who killed her husband by setting his genitals on fire.  Yeeowtch!  Our Community Focus this week is the new Doctor Who and Torchwood Related community, and our user focus is MWilton13.

The 49th edition of Social Blend begins with a great interview with special guest Jeff Gallo from the metal band GOLD TOOTH.  We were honored to have Jeff on the show, and the guys in the band were awesome enough to let us give you a preview of one of their new songs!

Following our interview, we’re joined with Brian Hill aka Bdog2g2 and Keith Wagner aka DarkNemesis618.  We talk about the controversy of the UK internet watchdog banning/censoring a 34 year old album cover on Wikipedia; which then leads us into a discussion about that dude who was on the cover of Nirvana’s Nevermind.  He is 17 years old now.

Jay brings us an outstanding music video made up of 45,000 still photos, while Keith highlights some of the pitfalls of remastering and changing the original Star Trek series.  (Meanwhile, while they debated, I was having sex).

We also talk of the beauty that is Jennifer Aniston, why the Dark Knight DVD release was such a disappointment, and we dissect the finer acting attributes of Mr. Keanu Reeves…
