With social media, everyone has plenty of interactions with different members of the communities be it Mixx, Digg, Reddit, or whatever, we all deal with others from all different backgrounds.  How we as users of the community deal with others can speak volumes about not only ourselves, but about the community as a whole. One of the greatest things about social media, and Mixx in particular in my opinion is the diversity of the community. People sharing links and discussing these stories sharing personal views and opinions. And lets face it, not everyone is going to share the same opinion on everything, and I like that. I have my opinions on many topics ranging from politics to technology to music and many topics in between. But while I have these opinions, I am still always open to hearing different views from others. These opinions and views often times enhance my understanding or my knowledge, or simply give me something to think about. Simply put we as the community should embrace these opinions even if they differ from others. Now I'm not saying we have to agree with them, but at the same time we shouldn't attack the user for his or her opinion. ...

Man oh man. So why is it things can be cool for like 3 months and then Social Media sites like Digg go and lose their mind? Seems like, like..... deja vu. Well wait this has happened already. So we all know that a lot of our Social Media friends got banned from Digg for one reason or another. The spammers can take their licks like a man (and will start new BS accounts). The people I am concerned with are the ones who have actual friends and have been participating in the community. We have all seen the list. Yes it is loaded with friends of mine. I reached out to a couple of friends who are top Digg users to get their thoughts. A long time ago, at a Mixxing Bowl blog entry far from this one, we decided we were going to have an avatar contest.  It made everyone happy.  So happy, in fact, that many began singing and dancing into the forest, and began celebrating with the small woodland creatures found therein. Well, it wasn't that euphoric, but you get the drift.  It was a lot of fun.  So much fun, in fact, that we'd been thinking about having another one.  So here it is...  but this time...  it's different. Instead of voting on already-existing avatars, your mission (should you choose to accept it, and if you don't, I shall beat you with a fish) will be to design an avatar... for THE_PLAGIARIST... We've all seen the dude on Mixx and in the Bowl.  A regular contributor, submitting great stuff.  The fact he has no avatar has been a low-key running joke amongst the SB crew for a little while, so we decided to dress that icon up a little for this particular contest...
