Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The-TrukstoP.com), Jay Fowler (SilentJay74 from JuicySnake.com), Brian Hill (Bdog2g2 from MixxingBowl.com), Reem Abeidoh (Nomadelle from ReemAbeidoh.com), and Joshua Olson (Honest_Ape from HonestApe.net)the Social Blend examines the latest news and opinions hitting the world of social media. The main focus of the show is on Mixx.com, yet focuses on other sites and contenders in the social media field.

The latest edition of Social Blend sees us joined by special Mark Dykeman from Broadcasting-Brain.com – and also welcomes Joshua aka Honest_Ape as one of our regular commentators and co-hosts.  Josh will be joining us on future episodes when he is available, so there’s much to look forward to!

We begin the episode with a quick interview with Paul Sanchez aka Soloride as he tells us the progress of Social Monks, where the project is now headed, and what happened to Tim Part.

Following the interview, we discuss the issues of “spam” at Mixx – in which Greg declares war on the spammers and calls on Mixxers to help.  Meanwhile, Honest_Ape gives Greg shit about the use of the phrase “DILLIGAF”.

The discussion then moves onto a discussion of The Dark Knight – one of the most breathtaking blockbusters to hit cinemas in years.  For our stories of the week, Jay and Mark discuss the new trailers for Terminator Salvation and Watchmen.  Jay also highlights a humorous Star Wars parody video called The Fate of the Duel.

Reem puts Greg on the spot in a discussion of his inflammatory and controversial article called Social Media is a Myth.  Joshua highlights two great stories at Mixx: the rise of Dr. Horrible (thanks to the mind of Joss Whedon), and the news that Netflix services may be coming to Xbox 360!  Greg points to two photo stories – one of an Ancient Egyptian statue that looks very much like Wacko Jacko, and a surfer who gets a tad too close to some lava!

Our User Focus is Mareacaspica this week – and as usual we talk of some Comments of the Week and jump into the Mixx Lounge.
