Social Blend ZI: The Unsavory Folk
Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The-TrukstoP.com), Joe Fowler (SilentJay74 from JuicySnake.Blogspot.com), Brian Hill (Bdog2g2 from MixxingBowl.com), and Reem Abeidoh (Nomadelle from ReemAbeidoh.com), the Social Blend examines the latest news and opinions hitting the world of social media. The main focus of the show is on Mixx.com, yet focuses on other sites and contenders in the social media field.
The twenty-first edition of Social Blend features a look at the new feature of Mixx that integrates YOUR Mixx submissions with Twitter. We also take a look at the spiffy new staff profiles they snuck onto the “About Us” page during the last update. Dominant in our Mixx discussions this week were thoughts on managing social conflicts online, and the reprehensible behavior of some people who attempt to use social media to either further their own agenda or spread hatred.
Thoughts of Digg dominate our story selections this week, following the Digg Town Hall 2.0 – in which we discuss the implications on the world of social media in general. Our other Stories of the Week include a couple of interesting pics from Mixx, while Jay goes political on our asses by bringing up some awesome videos that dominated social media in the week just gone. We also take a look at recent tragedies in both China and Myanmar; and close out with a discussion on a Lawton, Oklahoma story that highlighted to us the power social media has over old media.
Our User Focus is Corey.M this week, we refer people to some “Related Stories” shenanigans for our comments of the week – and as usual we jump into the Mixx Lounge (and now, The Blender!).
