Social Blend miXX: How to milk a cat
Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The-TrukstoP.com), Joe Fowler (SilentJay74 from JuicySnake.Blogspot.com), Brian Hill (Bdog2g2 from MixxingBowl.com), and Reem Abeidoh (Nomadelle from ReemAbeidoh.com), the Social Blend examines the latest news and opinions hitting the world of social media. The main focus of the show is on Mixx.com, yet focuses on other sites and contenders in the social media field.
The twentieth Social Blend features special guest Kori Hill from Mixx, and we talk about the new alliance between CNN.com and Mixx. We also take a look at Mixx Pics, and discuss a somewhat controversial review article by Gulf News. Kori also answers a couple of Mixx questions for us, and discusses how damn cool it is to be working for Mixx!
For our Stories of the Week, Reem discusses Twitter taking a stand against spammers, while Greg brings up two topics from the Pictures section of Mixx, one about Cricket and the other about Nudist Beaches. Jay highlights the awesome firepower of a rubber bullet for us, and Kori brings us into the weird and wonderful world of ManBabies. Later, Reem and Greg go at it about the news story of a 13 year old girl who hung herself after she “became emo”.
Our User Focus is RobDiana this week, we take a flashback to a famous Kori Hill comment for our comment of the week – and as usual we jump into the Mixx Lounge (and now, The Blender!).

One thing - save yourself a shit load of time and embed the link in the text, looks better too… unless you are cut and pasting - then it is more of a look thing.

Another thing The Best Extension for Firefox is shareaholic - submit a story from any site including Mixx. But the point you make about the fact that having the option “on site” makes people aware of Mixx. Which I might add is far better than *cough* digg…
Problem with breaking news in twitter is that a big story brings twitter to it’s knees. But your right, twitter rocks for the latest news etc. One service everyone should follow is: BreakingNewsOn (http://twitter.com/BreakingNewsOn) awesome service that has news as it happens - found it to be one of the best for general news.
