Contest: Avatar Mixx Up.
Inspired by the article “7 Reasons Why You’ll Click on Everything I Post” by Brian Wallace and the comments generated from the Mixx post here, I thought it would be interesting to hold a contest of Mixx avatars and see what the community thinks.
The contest isn’t a one avatar to rule them all, instead it will be broken down into several categories.
The categories are:
- Most Memorable
- Best Custom Design
- Best Self Picture
- Most Creative
- Funniest
- Most Serious
- Cutest not my idea
Of course cGt2099, joefowler3, and Bdog2g can’t be nominated, but we can nominate.
Post a comment with your vote in each category and on Tuesday January 15, 2008 check back to see if your name is next to one of the categories. If you can only think of one avatar, that’s cool, just post the name of the avatar and the category for which you think is best.
Remember, this is all in good fun and perhaps will help others (especially new people) to choose a proper avatar from themselves.

I nominate Honest_Ape for best self picture, oh wait that’s a beaver…Seriously Mark Carras for best self picture, because that aint a mustache it is his sideburns growing so close together!
Damn you, Joe! How could you turn on me that way? And it’s not a beaver, it’s an otter!
As for Mark, well, I find his new avatar pretty intimidating. Scary, even. I can tell he’s looking at me, waiting to crush my geek ass under his heavy metal boot of pain.

Okay, I changed my avatar and am now competing for best self picture - how can you not vote for a picture of 7 year-old me??
